The protesters called for the prosecution of the owner of the Du pond - They also called for the prosecution of the former state governor of the state Some protesters on Tuesday, October 9, stormed the streets of Jos, Plateau state to protest the killings in the state. The protesters who shutdown commercial activities in the popular Jos city called for the prosecution of those behind these killings. The protesters, under the aegis of The Faithful, a group of clergymen, also want owner of the deadly mining pond in Dura Du, where the car belonging to the missing General Idris Alkali (rtd) was found arrested and prosecuted. While the protesters were intercepted by a team of Mobile Police men on their way to the palace of Gbong Gwom of Jos for security reasons, the convener of the group, Rotdunna Sekat, called for the prosecution of the former state governor of the state, Jonah Jang, as one of the brains behind the bloodletting in the town. They are the leadership whose hands drip with the blood of the innocent in our vision. “These are the leaders that must be called to account for the carnage that have become daily occurrence in our land. For even the Bible in Isaiah 1:23 acknowledges their roles when it noted that “Your rulers are rebels and companions of thieves; Everyone loves a bribe And chases after rewards They do not defend the orphan, Nor does the widow's plea come before them.” A group of clergymen protested the continued killing in Plateau state. He has rather teamed up with Senator Jang to tolerate the killing of others by the Berom.
